상담을 전공한 보건교사의 사회적 관심에 관한 자전적 내러티브 탐구
본 연구의 목적은 보건교사가 대학원에서 상담 전공 공부를 통해 사회적 관심을 확장해 나 간 경험을 자전적 내러티브 방법으로 탐색하는 것이었다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 두 개의 연구퍼즐을 설정하였다. 첫째, 연구자의 삶의 이야기가 상담을 전공한 후 보건교사로서 학교 장면에서 어떻게 이어지고 구성되어지는가? 그리고 둘째, 연구자의 삶의 이야기가 상담을 전 공한 후 보건교사로서 학교 밖의 사회에 대한 관심으로 어떻게 확장되어 가는가? 본 연구의 연구자이면서 참여자인 보건교사의 자전적 내러티브에 초점을 두고, 과거 회상 기억, 내담자 경험을 위한 상담 경험, 일기, 메모를 활용해 본 연구의 자료를 수집하였고, 그 자료를 연구 자가 상담을 전공하기 이전의 삶과 상담을 전공한 이후의 삶에서 어떠한 변화가 있는가에 대한 분석을 통해 주제별로 재구성하였다. 이를 통해, 연구자는 상담 전공 경험을 통해 다음 과 같은 새로운 의미를 찾을 수 있었다. 첫째, 상담 전공 경험을 통해, 연구자는 부모에 대한 인정의 욕구를 충족시키는 것에서 벗어나 가정에서 자녀를 독립된 인격체로 인정하고, 부모 의 삶을 이해하며 수용하는 형태로 바뀌며 성장하였다. 둘째, 연구자는 또한 학교에서 보건 교사의 역할에 만족하던 삶에서, 교육과정에 창의적으로 참여하는 등 역동적이고 주도적인 역할을 하며 주체자의 삶으로 변화하였다. 셋째, 연구자는 가정과 학교에만 머물러 있던 모 습에서, 학교 밖 청소년들에게도 좀 더 관심을 가지고 돌보는 등 사회적 관심을 두는 모습으 로 삶의 관심 폭이 확장되었다. 끝으로 보건교사로서 상담을 전공한 이후의 삶의 경험에 대 한 이러한 의미들을 논의하고 후속연구를 제안하였다.
An Autobiographical Narrative Inquiry on Social Interest of a Health Teacher Who Majored in Counseling
The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences on expanding social interest of a health teacher through majoring in counseling in graduate school, using autobiographical narrative inquiry. For this purpose, two research puzzles were set up in this study: First, How is the story of a health teacher's life connected and organized in school scenes as a health teacher after majoring in counseling?; and second, How is the story of a health teacherr's life expanded to interest in society outside of school as a health teacher? Focusing on her autobiographical narratives, we collected the data for this study that included her memories from the past, counseling experience as a client, diaries, memos, and the meaning of those experiences was reconstructed by each theme, analyzing the changes in life in both school and outside school before and after majoring in counseling. Through the analyses of the reconstructed themes, she as a researcher was able to find the following new meaning of experiences on majoring in counseling. First, it was found that she has matured changing from her focusing meeting her needs for recognition and acceptance needs from her parents to both recognizing her children as independent persons and understanding and accepting her parents’ life. Second, it was found that her life in school was changed from the life that was satisfied with the role of a health teacher to the life that play the leading role actively such as creative participation in the curriculum. Third, it was found that her interest was expanded from staying at home and at school to paying attention to society such as caring for teenagers outside of school. Finally, the meanings of the experiences on majoring in counseling as a health teacher were discussed and further studies were suggested.
